Breast Cancer Awareness Month Giveaway Winner
We want to introduce you to someone special: Pat Grimes of Chandler Arizona.
Pat Grimes is a Chandler resident, dedicated mother of two and nana of four grandsons, a Servant Minister at Central Christian Church and a volunteer counselor for the Pregnancy Care Center of Chandler. She and her husband own OnaMission Home Painting, a paint contracting business. Pat is a hard-working and generous member of the community and in October 2013, her daughter nominated her for our Breast Cancer Awareness Month giveaway.
“My mom is not just a survivor, she is a thriver! She is always putting other people first and I knew she and my dad had been putting off some plumbing issues that needed to be fixed, so I thought it would be such a treat for her to win!” her daughter told us.
Yes, beyond the title of wife, mom, nana and volunteer, Pat is also a breast cancer survivor of 18 years. At the young age of 45, Pat fought her battle in 1995 and won. She is now in the best health of her life, growing her own vegetable garden, walking and working out every day and teaching others how to live a more holistic lifestyle.
We were thrilled to tell Pat that she’d won the giveaway! Little did we know that we would tell her the good news ON her birthday! She later told us that she was wearing her birthday tiara and enjoying lunch at the Olive Mill later that day with her husband of 43 years, her daughter that nominated her and her grandson when she announced “I won! I won the plumbing contest!” and they toasted with their peach champagne.
We sent out Mark—one of your dedicated and hard-working plumbers—to the Grimes home to do a whole-home plumbing and safety inspection. Pat said, “We were impressed with Mark’s vast plumbing knowledge. As he went around our home, he freely shared all sorts of tips and information with us.” Mark went back two days later to fix a bathroom faucet leak and install a new kitchen sink and faucet.
As for the overall experience, Pat said, “They did what they said they were going to do, were a joy to have in our home and took excellent care of us. We are thrilled with the repairs that were made and our beautiful new sink and faucet. Thanks, Ben Franklin Plumbing!”
