How to Use Plumbing Teflon Tape on Pipes
Hi, I’m Linda Stanfield with Benjamin Franklin plumbing from Chandler, Arizona. Today, I want to share with you how to use plumbing tape on pipes. The reason you would want to use plumbing teflon tape is to go ahead and get that really good seal between two pipes or between a pipe and the fixture to allow no leaking to come on out. This here is a standard plumbing tape. This here is a little bit heavier duty, and then we also have a liquid plumbing tape. Any of those would be fine depending on the application that you need. Every manufacturer also will tell you how much to put on. That’s really an important fact and make sure you follow the directions because too much plumbing tape could really cause other problems. So the way you want to do this is you do want to put plumbing tape on clock wise. You just want to go ahead and make sure it’s nice and tight, make it a couple rounds. This here actually is calling for three. And we want to go ahead and roll that around, pull it tight, it will stick right to the pipe and then just go ahead and turn that around, make sure it’s nice and tight through the threads. And that’s how you put plumbing tape on pipes. I’m Linda Stanfield with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, thank you so much for watching today.
